News2025-07-22
According to market news, JD.com is planning to launch an independent app called "JD Waimai", which has been developed by Shanghai JD Jiajia Youheng E-commerce Information Technology Co., Ltd., the development company of the "JD Home" app, and may be launched at a later date. At present, JD Waimai is still embedded in the "Instant Delivery" channel of JD APP.

Data shows that JD Waimai has been officially launched for four months, with nearly 200 catering brands selling over one million and daily orders exceeding 25 million. Luckin Coffee, Kudi, Meixue Ice City and other brands have become the first batch of brands with sales exceeding 100 million yuan. More than 10 brands such as Bawang Tea Ji, Guming, Tastin, and Hua Lai Shi have sold over 10 million yuan. Brands such as KFC, McDonald's, Haidilao, Starbucks, Burger King, Xiaocaiyuan, Nancheng Xiang, Yu You Together, Yuan Ji Yun Dumplings, and Ziyan Baiwei Chicken have quickly sold over 1 million yuan after their launch.

In order to further strengthen its layout in the food delivery field, JD Waimai has officially launched the "Double Hundred Plan", investing over 10 billion yuan in real money to support more benchmark brands in various categories with sales exceeding one million. The platform will provide a 5A level merchant service system through traffic support, marketing subsidies, popular product operation, high-quality delivery, and exclusive after-sales service to help more high-quality catering merchants achieve sustainable growth in online business and jointly provide consumers with a better experience of quality takeout.

Starting from March 1, 2025, JD.com announced that it will pay five insurances and one fund for existing and newly joined full-time delivery riders, and provide accident insurance and health and medical insurance for part-time delivery riders. JD.com has also become the first platform to pay five insurances and one fund for delivery riders. For the sake of salary fairness, JD.com announced that it will fully bear all the costs of paying the five insurances and one fund for full-time delivery riders who sign contracts in the future, including personal contributions, to ensure that the rider's cash income will not decrease due to the payment of the five insurances and one fund. This measure includes both existing riders and newly joined riders.

Recently, JD Waimai also announced an investment of 2 billion yuan to upgrade welfare for full-time riders. In addition to the five insurances and one fund, a monthly heatstroke and cold prevention allowance is provided during the cold and hot seasons, as well as 150000 two wheeled vehicles. After the rider purchases the car independently and runs 3000 orders within 90 days of using the new car, the platform will refund the purchase price. The first phase of the event will be launched in Beijing, Nanjing, and Changsha, and will gradually be opened nationwide in the future. As of the end of the second quarter of 2025, the number of full-time delivery riders on JD.com has exceeded 150000. In first tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, the per capita income of full-time delivery riders on JD.com is close to 13000 yuan.
